"So, to move on, I took the mixture out of a feed flask to a reactor flask. That’s where all of the yeast was. I also changed the pump rate to a setpoint. Every minute, I had a look at how much carbon dioxide came out of the reaction flask, and I used a ..."             "I set up this interesting experiment to run over roughly 24 hours.  For your experiments you will need physical materials or data from the previous experiments. Choose one item you really need: the material or the data. Then write a lay summary for the MTA.  It must include the following:  1. What do you need?  2. What is the goal of your research? 3. How will you use the material? Remember to check the sample lay summary in your textbook at p. 21. You may need to check your project summary you did at p. 9 in your textbook. Remember to use such words as  aims to, the (initial) phase, the proposed research, the study will indicate, develop, technology, test experimentally, etc.  Your lay summary should be no less than 50 words. Please, provide the word count in the parenthesis (129).

Help needed: What is the quality of scientific writing for peer review?

Image
Directions: Write a meaningful responce to the post. Use at least 70 words. Please, write the word count in parenthesis () after your post.  Hi, all! I am in need of advice. I am writing a paper right now and I am almost done. However, this is my first paper in English. So I was wondering how important the quality of the writing is. It will undergo a peer review process.  I don't mean the quality of the data, but the actual writing. In other words, will a nicely written paper with the same data be more likely to be accepted? How accurate should my grammar be? What about the spelling? Oh and I don't have much writing experience in English so the linking words may be the same: so, and, then.... Can you tell me what to do? Should I make sure there are no mistakes? Can you suggest a site or a service I can use to improve my writing? ANy help will be really appreciated. Thanks in advance XOXOXO  (148)
